More Information

The collection follows three distinct approaches. Atelier pieces are our own designs, made after you place your order. Boutique pieces such as Wallace are upholstered by us following the same attention to finish. Our Curated collection takes a different route: one-of-a-kind vintage seating, selected individually and restored when necessary, ready to ship as shown.

Handcrafted seating, made to order in our atelier

Repose, Hug, Wanderlust and Petite belong to Atelier. We make these pieces to order and finish them by hand in Spain.

Our approach to handcrafted leather seating is precise. Each design has established proportions and a distinct identity, while the choice of leather and metal allows you to define its final character.

Every Atelier design stays true to its original form, with the selected materials and colours bringing a different expression to the finished piece.

Choose your leather and metal finish

Material is an integral part of each Atelier piece. Depending on the design, cowhide leather is combined steel, bringing different tones, textures and contrasts to the same form.

You can choose the colour of the leather and metal from our available finishes. We then complete your chosen combination by hand in Spain.

This material palette allows each design to take on its own character while preserving the form and proportions conceived for the original model.

Seating for dining rooms, kitchens and lounges

The collection spans different heights, functions and areas of the interior. For a dining space, explore our handcrafted dining chairs. For bars and entertaining areas, our backless bar stools offer a lighter seating profile, while our bar stools with backrest provide additional support.

For kitchens and islands, explore kitchen stools and counter stools with backrest. For living rooms, bedrooms and quieter areas of a project, the collection extends to armchairs, chaise longues, leather ottomans and sofas.

Each category responds to a different function, but together they form a single handcrafted leather seating collection defined by material, proportion and finish.

Materials and finishes

Materials are central to our handcrafted leather seating. For Atelier pieces, we work with cowhide leather, steel and brass. We select them for their texture, character and the way they develop with use, then complete each piece by hand in Spain.

Boutique pieces follow the same attention to upholstery and finish. Wallace, for example, is upholstered by us, bringing our approach to materials and craftsmanship to a different expression of seating.

Our Curated pieces have their own material language. Rattan, bouclé, shearling and velvet appear across the collection according to the period, construction and character of each piece.

Curated seating: restored pieces, ready to ship

Alongside our handcrafted seating, Curated offers another way to find distinctive pieces for an interior.

We select vintage seating individually for its design, proportions, materials and character. Napoleon III chairs, Italian mid-century dining chairs, French Riviera rattan seating and Z-frame stools in shearling are among the pieces that can become part of the Curated collection.

We restore each piece when required, taking into account its original materials and construction. Every Curated piece or set is unique and offered as presented, with no changes to its dimensions, materials or finish.

Most importantly, Curated seating is ready to ship.

Unlike our handcrafted leather seating from Atelier, which enters production after an order is placed, Curated pieces are already available. This makes them particularly relevant when a project calls for a distinctive piece without the production lead time of made to order furniture.

Working with interior designers and specifiers

Our handcrafted leather seating follows a clear specification process. Interior designers and specifiers can select a design according to its form and dimensions, then define the leather and metal combination that works within the interior.

Curated seating follows a different specification process. As each vintage design is unique and offered as presented, its materials, dimensions and finishes are specific to that item.

Interior designers and architects can find further information about working with us on our Furniture for Interior Designers and Architects page.

Lead times and worldwide shipping

Our handcrafted leather seating from Atelier is produced after the order is placed, with an approximate production time of six weeks, followed by transport. Curated seating is already available and ready to ship, offering an alternative when project timing requires more immediate availability.

We ship our seating worldwide. Whether you are ordering handcrafted dining chairs, leather bar stools, an armchair or a chaise longue, we prepare each order with reinforced packaging to protect the furniture throughout transport.

You can request a Private Consultation to discuss the piece, finishes and delivery requirements before placing an order.

Frequently asked questions

What defines JoverValls handcrafted seating?

Our handcrafted seating brings together three distinct approaches.

Atelier includes original designs such as Repose, Hug, Wanderlust and Petite. Our handcrafted leather seating is produced after the order is placed, finished by hand in Spain and available in a choice of leather and metal colours.

Boutique includes pieces such as Wallace, upholstered by us with the same attention to material and finish.

Curated brings together unique vintage seating selected individually and restored when required. These pieces are offered as shown and are ready to ship.

Can I choose the leather and metal finish?

Yes. Our made to order seating from JoverValls Atelier is available in a selection of leather and metal colours.

You choose the finish while the dimensions and proportions of the original design remain unchanged. The complete selection of current options can be found on our Materials & Finishes page.

Curated pieces follow a different approach. Their materials and finishes are part of the piece as selected and cannot be changed.

Are your handcrafted seats available in custom dimensions?

No. Our handcrafted leather seating is produced in the dimensions established for each design.

For Atelier and Boutique pieces, you can choose the leather colour and metal colour, but we do not alter the dimensions or proportions. We recommend checking the measurements shown on each product page when selecting a chair, stool, armchair or chaise longue for a particular space.

How long does it take to produce handcrafted leather seating?

Our handcrafted leather seating from Atelier takes approximately six weeks to produce, followed by transport.

Each piece enters production after the order is placed. We then make and finish it by hand in Spain in the leather and metal colours selected for the order.

Curated seating is different: these pieces are already available and ready to ship.

Do you ship handcrafted seating internationally?

Yes. We ship our handcrafted seating worldwide, including JoverValls Atelier, Boutique and Curated pieces.

Atelier and Boutique pieces have an approximate production time of six weeks before transport. Curated pieces are ready to ship. We use reinforced packaging to protect each order during international delivery.

What is the difference between a counter stool and a bar stool?

The principal difference is seat height. Counter stools are designed for kitchen counters and islands, while leather bar stools have a higher seat position for taller bar surfaces.

Our stool designs have fixed dimensions, so the height of the counter or bar should always be checked against the measurements of the individual piece before ordering.
